The West Ham United midfielder bagged two awards including the Ghana Player of the Year for his outstanding campaign in England last season as well as playing a starring role at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

“I want to thank everything who took the time to experience their amazing awards. I would want to use this opportunity to give thanks to everyone who made sure this nice event happened today. I am happy to be named the player of the year and it is a testament to my hard work. This is for my teammates and my family,” he said, as spotted on social media.

The former Ajax man beat off competition from Abdul Fatawu Issahaku of Leicester City, Osman Bukari formerly of Red Star Belgrade and now with Austin FC, and Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams to win the top award.

This is the second year running that the 23-year-old is winning the award, having first received the accolade in 2023.

Kudus is currently in Ghana for the holidays but will return to England in the coming weeks to begin preparations with West Ham ahead of the new season.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate has emerged as a transfer target for Saudi giants Al Ittihad, as reported by ESPN.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan reacted to news of Saudi giants Al-Ittihad showing interest in Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus in the summer transfer window.

The West Ham United star is reported to be on the radar of the club who are set to triple his salaries should he decide to join them this summer.

However, some sections of the Ghanaian media have advised the 23-year-old to stay and build his career in England, claiming he is too young to make that move.
