Unregistered Landcruiser vehicle knocks and kills motor rider


An unregistered Toyota Landcruiser vehicle has knocked and killed a motor rider at Kwabenakwa, a suburb of Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

MyNewsGh.com confirmed that the vehicle driven by 37-year-old Agyeman Francis with trade plate number DV 162s-2024 was headed from Kwabenakwa towards Obuasi.

On reaching a section of the road at Asonkore, a suburb of Obuasi, he drove dangerously and in the process collided head-on with an unregistered Haojin Motorbike ridden by 27-year-old Baba Asamane from Obuasi towards Kwabenakwa in the opposite direction.

The rider sustained multiple degrees of injuries and was rushed to Obuasi SDA Hospital for treatment but died shortly on arrival. The body of the deceased has since been deposited at Obuasi Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy while the suspect driver is in police custody assisting with investigations.
