Orlando Pirates Defender Lifts Lid on Thembinkosi Lorch and Deon Hotto Feud

  • Orlando Pirates star, Paseka Mako, has disclosed that Thembinkosi Lorch and Deon Hotto had a dispute, and it deeply affected the team
  • Mako said the conflict started when Hotto was picked to play every game and asked to play nearly every position in the team
  • It is believed that Lorch’s transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns was because of the conflicts in the Buccaneers dressing room

Orlando Pirates defender, Paseka Mako, has shed light on the conflict between Thembinkosi Lorch and Deon Hotto.

The defender said before Lorch’s surprise move to Mamelodi Sundowns, he had an altercation with the Namibian star.

Lorch has courted controversy in his career and has served suspensions a few times.

Lorch joined Sundowns in January after eight years with Buccaneers, per Far Post. The blockbuster move was a surprise, considering he was a fan favourite at Pirates.

In his brief time at Masandawana he has stolen the headlines for the wrong reasons. Late last season, he was mysteriously absent from the team, raising questions.

Lorch vs Hotto dispute

In the Pirates show “Changeroom,” Mako detailed Lorch and Hotto’s feud and implied that jealousy might have played a part in their spat.

Lorch’s transfer to Sundowns has now raised questions about whether it was influenced by dressing room issues with other players.

“The incident between Lorch and Hotto, I could say it really affected the team I will explain it as I witnessed it,” Mako said per The Changeroom. “It was a major issue that affected the team. They didn’t greet each other.”

Mako added that the issue could’ve been caused by Hotto’s form and Lorch’s injury.

“In my point of view the guy number 3 (Lorch) because maybe he was always getting injured and Hotto was scoring. I could say it’s jealousy in my view the way I saw it because there were others who got involved.”

Hotto added that his versatility could’ve caused issues since it allowed him to play every game.

“So, the conflict came there when the coach was playing me as a striker, right-wing, left-back and left-wing. So, I heard among the guys that the guys are complaining, why Hotto is not getting substituted?”

Hotto made 41 appearances for Pirates last season and scored two goals. His team lifted the Nedbank Cup after beating Lorch’s Sundowns in the final.

Lorch spotted with beauties after break up

Sports Brief earlier reported on how Lorch was spotted with two ladies in a nightclub after breaking up with Natasha Thahane.

The incident happened three months after his relationship ended. After the video emerged, he was criticised on social media.
