New Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper coach, Ilyes Mzoughi, has shared his thoughts about why he chose to join the club and work with incoming coach, Nasreddine Nabi.
Nabi is expected to be announced this week as the new coach after his final match with Moroccan side, AS FAR Rabat.
Amakhosi have been putting together an elite backroom staff, including Mzoughi, who will support Nabi as he tries to lead the club back to the top.

Chiefs are set for a big off-season with several players set to leave and more to join. Nabi and Mzoughi are expected to make an instant impact on a club that hasn’t won a title in nine seasons.
Mzoughi and Frenchman Fernando Da Cruz, the incoming assistant coach, will form the core of Nabi’s backroom staff.
Why did Mzoughi join Kaizer Chiefs?
Mzoughi said Nabi tried to persuade him to work with him many times, but other commitments prevented that.
“Nasreddine Nabi contacted me many times when he was working in Tanzania or even with the Royal Army,” Mzoughi told Tunisian media via GOAL.
“But it was not possible for me to respond to his request because I was with the Mauritanian national team in the African Nations Cup and the World Cup qualifiers.”
However, this time round, the Mauritanian goalkeeping coach accepted his request because it was Kaizer Chiefs.

“And this time I accepted because I am happy to work alongside Nasreddine Nabi at a big team in Africa, and I wanted to pass on my experience and expertise to many teams in many countries and continents.”
According to Far Post, Mzoughi will replace Rainer Dinkelacker and, with his vast knowledge from working in North Africa and the Middle East, be tasked with improving the Chiefs’ goalkeeping department.
How will Kaizer Chiefs play under Nabi?
Sports Brief earlier reported on Raja Casablanca’s assistant coach from South Africa, Fadlu Davids, explaining Nasreddine Nabi’s tactics and how Kaizer Chiefs could play under him.
After facing Nabi’s team a few times, Davids said the Tunisian coach likes to implement a direct style of play while also utilising set pieces.
