Airforce helicopter reportedly crashes in Kaduna


A helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reportedly crashed in Tami village of Igabi area in Kaduna State during the early hours of Monday, July 1.

Sources told journalists that the incident occurred  at about 5am.

According to them, they heard a loud sound from the crash site, which made them rushed to the scene.

Eyewitnesses say they saw the pilot emerging from the wreckage.

“A team of military officers from the Nigerian Air Force swiftly arrived at the scene to secure the area and conduct an initial investigation,” one of the locals said.

“They cordoned off the crash site to prevent unauthorized access and to ensure the safety of the villagers. The officers also began preliminary assessments to determine the cause of the crash, which remains unknown at this time,” he added.

NAF authorities were yet to speak on the incident as at press time.
