Gaston Sirino, 3 Other Players Masandawana Should Sell This Summer

  • Sports Brief suggests some of the players who should leave the club before the new season kicks off in a few days

Mamelodi Sundowns must sell some of their first-team players this summer as they prepare for the 2024-25 Premier Soccer League season.

The Brazilians won the Dstv Premiership last season, their seventh consecutive title, and are gunning for their 18th league title next campaign.

Ahead of the new PSL season, Sports Brief unveils some players Sundowns need to part ways with this summer.

Players Sundowns should sell this summer

1. Gaston Sirino

Sirino has lost his place in Rulani Mokwena’s squad after he submitted a transfer request before last season kicked off.

He returned to the squad in October but had his game time reduced by the manager.

The Uruguayan playmaker has been linked with a summer move to Kaizer Chiefs, and it could be the perfect time to let the 33-year-old leave.

2. Rushine de Reuck

Rushine was a regular for both Sundowns and Bafana Bafana before he got injured in the 2022-23 season.

He lost his place to Grant Kekana and Mothobi Mvala, who formed a solid defence partnership for club and country.

The 28-year-old needs more game time now that he’s back from injury.

3. Reyaad Pieterse

Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper is surplus to requirements at Sundowns after the club decided to extend Denis Onyango’s contract.

The 32-year-old has only played for the Brazilians twice this season, one of which was in the Carling Knockout.

4. Sammy Seabi

Seabi could move further down the pecking order with the emergence of Thando Buthelezi and Siyanda Nyanga.

The 29-year-old midfielder played just three games in the PSL, all as a substitute, according to GOAL.
