Mainoo was impressive for United in the final weeks of the club’s underwhelming 2023/24 campaign, playing a key part in their FA Cup triumph over Manchester City.

SPORTbible reports that his encouraging display earned him an unlikely spot in the England squad for the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

While he has not played a prominent role in the team thus far, the teenage sensation may have give Gareth Southgate a reason to look his way.

Mainoo destroys Gomez in training

This after the United star turned Gomez inside out with an insane skill during the Three Lions’ training session.

In a clip on social media, Mainoo can be seen with the ball during a small-sided game before the Liverpool ace confronts him to dispose of him.

However, the United academy product remains composed before flicking the ball backwards through his teammate’s legs, leaving Gomez gasping for air.

The short video caught the eye of fans on social media, with @tether_bet joking:

“Sent him back to Charlton Athletic 🤣🤣🤣.”

@iam_wilsons noted:

“Kobbie Mainoo is just too good.”

@utdpathletic posted:

“Cooking wherever he goes.”

@TerfaTG concluded:

“By the time he fills out physically, it will be impossible to dispossess him.”

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen how England will line up ahead of their last 16 clash against Slovakia.

The knockout tie is scheduled for Sunday, June 30.

Mainoo and eight Ghanaian players at Euro 2024

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mainoo is among eight players of Ghanaian origin representing their European nations at the Euros in Germany.

Most of the countries at this year’s competition have a couple of players with dual nationalities or having their origins elsewhere.
