Chelsea Reportedly Offer Leicester City 3 Players to Sign Midfielder

  • Chelsea have reportedly placed a Leicester City midfielder at the top of their transfer wishlist ahead of the summer window
  • The west Londoners are expected to revamp their squad in preparation for the 2024/25 season following a poor campaign last term
  • Midfield is among the key departments that have been earmarked for strengthening by new boss, Enzo Maresca, who replaced Pochettino

Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Leicester City three players plus cash in order to land Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer.

Following the arrival of Enzo Maresca, the Blues are expected to undergo major changes before the start of the new season.

Maresca joined the west London club recently, succeeding Mauricio Pochettino, who was dismissed at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The Argentine’s sacking came after a mixed run of form that saw the 2021 Champions League winners finish sixth in the Premier League standings.

Despite the encouraging finish, Poch was unable to help the club end the campaign with a trophy, losing the Carabao Cup final to rivals, Liverpool.

Maresca makes Leicester ace top transfer target

Reports now claim that Maresca has already identified key areas that need strengthening before the new campaign.

According to Metro UK, Chelsea have identified Leicester midfielder, Dewsbury-Hall, as their top transfer target this summer.

On his part, the 25-year-old star is said to be open to sealing a move, favouring a switch to Stamford Bridge rather than Brighton, who have also expressed interest in his services.

Chelsea have already made efforts to complete the transfer, with the club reportedly submitting a bid to Leicester.

Per Telegraph, the Blues are open to sending three players the other way to convince the Foxes to complete the deal.

The publication notes that the trio of Armando Broja, David Datro Fofana, and Cesare Casadei could be allowed to move to the King Power Stadium for the Dewsbury-Hall transfer to happen.

A move to Chelsea would see Dewsbury-Hall reunite with Maresca. The former Leicester player played under the tactician last season in Leicester’s journey back to the English top-flight.

Chelsea ready to break transfer record

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Chelsea’s willingness to break the Premier League transfer record to sign Newcastle United striker, Alexander Isak, to bolster their attack.

Despite spending heavily on new transfers since Todd Boehly’s arrival, the Blues are understood to be keen to strengthen their squad further in the upcoming transfer window.
