Shifty Shellshock, born Seth Binzer, was the frontman of the rap-rock band Crazy Town. Their biggest hit, “Butterfly,” became a defining song of the late 90s.
Binzer co-founded Crazy Town in 1995, injecting a rap element into the rock scene.
“Butterfly” soared up the charts, with its catchy melody and distinctive rapping. Crazy Town released a few other successful singles before going on hiatus in the early 2000s.
Binzer battled drug addiction throughout his career. He appeared on reality shows seeking treatment and though Crazy Town reunited later, they never quite recaptured their initial fame.
Shifty Shellshock tragically passed away in June 2024 at the age of 49. While the cause of death is unknown, he leaves behind a musical legacy that helped define an era.
