Napoli striker Osimhen returned to Olusosun in the Ojota area of Lagos State, where he spent his childhood days.
The Super Eagles forward became the first Nigerian player in 24 years to win the African Footballer of the Year title.

In December 2023, he won the CAF 2023 Men’s Player of the Year award, becoming the first Nigerian to win the award since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999, Arise News reports.
This came after leading Napoli to the Serie A title during the 2022/2023 season with 26 league goals. He also won the top scorer’s award, becoming the first African to achieve such a feat in Italian football.
It was gathered that he visits Olusosun anytime he is in Lagos. The Arsenal and Chelsea target reunited with his friends in the area and presented the prestigious gong to them.
In his reaction, Adeyemi Adesoye, popularly known as ‘Yemzo’, says he is overjoyed to have a feel of the CAF Player Award. He told Sports Brief:

“Osimhen has been doing so well in the hood. After the CAF Award, we have been expecting him.
“I am really happy he came around with the CAF Award. I am overjoyed that, this same award I see on TV with the likes of Didier Drogba, Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and the rest, I, ‘Yemzo’, can touch it.”

Sports Brief earlier reported that Victor Osimhen continued to dominate the conversations across the Nigerian footballing circle following his outburst at former manager Finidi George.
The Napoli star, who was visibly unimpressed with the reports making the headlines about his absence from the national team, took to social media to criticise the coach.
