  • Chelsea superstar, Cole Palmer, is part of England’s 26-man squad taking part in the ongoing Euro 2024 in Germany
  • However, despite his impressive performances in the Premier League last season, he is yet to feature for England
  • It remains to be seen if Palmer will be involved in England’s final Group C clash against Slovenia next week, June 25

A section of fans has slammed England manager, Gareth Southgate, for snubbing Cole Palmer again during the Three Lions’ Group C draw against Denmark on Thursday, June 20.

The English team kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win in their opener against Serbia on June 16, with Jude Bellingham netting the all-important goal.

The win meant that the Euro 2020 runners-up needed another win in their second group clash to all but confirm their place in the knockouts.

However, Southgate’s charges were unable to make a good account of themselves against Denmark, with their meeting at Deutsche Bank Park ending in a 1-1 draw.

Bayern Munich star, Harry Kane, opened the scoring for England in the 18th minute before the Danes’ Morten Hjulmand equalised in the 34th minute.

Cole Palmer snubbed by Southgate

Having been left out of the Serbia clash, many believed Southgate would finally hand Palmer some minutes against Denmark.

However, this was ultimately not the case, with the Chelsea ace left warming the bench in the Thursday evening fixture.

The move sparked reactions on social media, with fans calling out Southgate for the decision.

@IndiaTales7 posted:

“England have been poor for two games and one of their best players, Cole Palmer, has not played a single minute.”

@CFC_OBED pointed out:

“If I was Chelsea, I will just book his flight back to London. What’s the essence of sitting on the bench, I now understand Ben white.”

@Tunnykvng added:

“Southgate has blood on his hands.”

@xKGx__ reckoned:

“Bro deserved to play today.”

@Irunnia_ concluded:

“Southgate better win this tournament or Chelsea fans will destroy him.”

England will wrap up the group stages with a clash against Slovenia on June 25.
