Movie producer, Leila Djansi has concluded that in Ghanaian politics, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is the lesser of two evils.
She was reacting to a proposed mandatory Health Insurance by the National Health Insurance for foreigners who come to the country.
To her, this is clear thievery on the part of the government since there are no better health facilities in the country to warrant payment of $45 to $270.
Her post read “
Ohhhhhh. In Ghanaian politics, I must confess, NDC is the lesser of two evils. I have never seen such blatant thievery! NPP.
$270? For which healthcare facility?
The stench ridden korlebu with sunken mattresses , rotten rusted beds, moldy vip wards, grime ridden walls and nursing staff who pack up and go home without scheduling a patient waiting to have fluid drained from their lungs? Or the one where the Dr leaves a fasting stroke patient laid up in an ambulance for 7 hours to attend a funeral?
7 hours. Just asking.
We canceling tickets”.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health had prior to her post announced that the move is a proposal by the National Health Insurance which has not been agreed upon by Cabinet.
The proposal emanated from the experience they had during the COVID-19 period when the government had to use its resources to cater for foreigners in the country.
The Ministry in its statement indicated that any policy related to health will be scrutinized and well looked at before it is implemented.
