Frank Lampard Makes Interesting Admission About Former Chelsea Star Kai Havertz

Former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has observed a part of his former player, Kai Havertz’s game, which appears to have settled years after the two worked together.

Lampard managed Havertz at the Blues when the attacker was signed for £72 million from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2020, but their relationship lasted only five months.

According to Daily Express, former Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, sanctioned the move for the attacker, but he was not exactly the manager’s signing.

Lampard makes admission about Havertz

The former England international is out of job after last coaching Chelsea on an interim basis at the end of the 2022/23 season, following the departure of Graham Potter.

Lampard, speaking on BBC Sports during the Euro 2024 match between Germany and Hungary, said, per Sportskeeda:

“He is such an interesting player, Kai. He was searching for his best role all that point and growing into the nine, false nine. But he has this ability, he has fluid movement Kai, he likes to stretch the game.

“He is so important as he’s prepared to make that run. Some of that is selfless, sometimes you won’t see him get it, but he consistently makes that run. Technically, he’s very good,” he added.

One of the Blues legend’s problems was not getting the best out of the German, whom he tried in multiple positions including as a number 8, 10, 9 and even on the wings.

The 25-year-old has been used in multiple positions since moving to Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta finally settling for the number 9 position close to the end of the last season.
