Robert Morris was the well-known senior pastor of Texas’s Gateway Church, a megachurch with more than 100,000 members.
Under his leadership, the church has flourished since its foundation in 2000, expanding to include multiple campuses and winning notoriety across the globe for his radio and television programs.
However, in June 2024, Morris’s career abruptly came to an end. He admitted to a “moral failing” that has been defined as repeatedly sexually abusing a young girl over the course of five years in the 1980s.
This discovery led to his resignation.
Morris was not only a best-selling Christian novelist but also the chancellor of a university.
