Niclas Füllkrug isn’t the only Füllkrug with a knack for finding the net. His sister, Anna-Lena, carries the same passion for football, albeit with a different club and a distinct nickname.
While Niclas is known as for his prominent front teeth, Anna-Lena goes by “Die Kanone” (the cannon) – a testament to her powerful strikes.
Growing up, their backyard must have been a warzone of friendly fire. One can imagine Niclas, ever the competitor, trying to shield his “Lücke” from Anna-Lena’s cannonball shots. Perhaps it was this sibling rivalry that honed their skills, pushing each other to become better footballers.

Their paths diverged professionally. Niclas carved his name in the Bundesliga, while Anna-Lena currently charges onto the field for Hannover 96.
Yet, the bond remains strong. When Anna-Lena scored her first goal for the club, the celebration was as much for her brother as it was for her. Niclas, miles away, likely erupted in front of the TV, a proud grin replacing his trademark gap.
They share more than just a passion for the sport. Both Füllkrugs have a legacy to uphold. Their grandfather, Gerd, also donned football boots, playing for SV Arminia Hannover.
The weight of family history might burden some, but for the Füllkrugs, it’s a source of motivation. Each goal scored is a tribute to the generations who came before them.
Niclas and Anna-Lena Füllkrug are a unique sibling duo. One, a striker with a gap-toothed grin, the other a goal-scoring machine nicknamed “the cannon.”
Their story is one of friendly competition, shared passion, and a family legacy that continues to be written on the football pitch.
