  • Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly desperate to sign two strikers before the arrival of Nasreddine Nabi this summer before the new season
  • The Soweto giants face competition from Premier Soccer League rivals, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, for one of the stars
  • Amakhosi will need to pay a whopping R8.7 million for one of the summer striker targets if they want to price him away from his team

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly ‘desperate’ to add new players to their attacking department ahead of Nasreddine Nabi’s arrival before the 2024-25 Premier Soccer League season starts.

The Glamour Boys are among the poorest teams from the 2023-24 DStv Premiership campaign in terms of the number of goals the team scored.

The Soweto giants scored 25 goals and conceded 30 times in 30 matches in the South African top flight last season, highlighting their poor attacking prowess.

Kaizer Chiefs linked with two top strikers

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly being linked with two strikers, Lebo Mothiba and Tumisang Orebonye, this summer, according to the South African.

Mothiba is a free agent after being released by French Ligue 1 side, Strasbourg, this summer. He is said to be seeking a new project for next season.

The Bafana Bafana star was recently spotted at the Kaizer Chiefs village, but Amakhosi will face stiff competition from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns for the 28-year-old.

Orebonye is another player on the Chiefs’ reported wishlist. Nabi is said to be willing to make the Botswanan striker his first potential signing as Amakhosi coach.

The Botswana international plays under the Tunisian tactician at AS FAR in the Botola Pro League, making 15 league appearances.

Despite joining the Moroccan giants in January, Orebonye scored four goals and registered an assist in 15 matches.

According to TransferMarkt, the Kaizer Chiefs target is valued at R8.7 million, which means the PSL side will need to pay a huge transfer fee for the 28-year-old.

Kaizer Chiefs eye Grant Margeman

Sports Brief also reported on Kaizer Chiefs’ interest in Grant Margeman ahead of Nabi’s apparent appointment as manager.

Amakhosi are ‘desperate’ to land the SuperSport United midfielder ahead of their PSL rivals during the summer window.
