Claims that Rock City Hotel made losses lies

Agric Minister and owner of Rock City Hotel, Bryan Acheampong has described as lies claims that Rock City is making losses.

Okudzeto Ablakwa as part of the reasons why he believes it’s not fair for SSNIT to sell four of its hotels to Rock City stated emphatically that Rock City Hotel is rather making losses.

He said he had documents to prove that the hotel based in the Eastern Region rather needs to be rescued and not rescuing profitable SSNIT Hotels.

But Speaking to TV3 in an interview, Bryan Acheampong described claims by Okudzeto Ablakwa as lies.

“Okudzeto Ablakwa has been lying all this while. All his claims are lies and a means to throw dust into the eyes of the people. Rock City hasn’t filed the 2023 taxes. They are expected to file their taxes at the end of June. So where did he intercept the said document? 2022 Rock City did not make losses. GRA, Rock City hasn’t filed any taxes and I’m daring him to produce the said document he claims to have intercepted,” he said.

On June 18, 2024, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa with the support of the NDC, Minority in Parliament and Organized labour hit the streets of Accra with a demonstration.

The objective of the demonstration was to petition the President to back down on the sale of SSNIT Hotels to Rock City Hotel.

He believes that it is part of a grand scheme by the governing political party in their attempt to capture the state indicating that if nothing is done about it, they will replicate the demonstration in other regions.
