Carrie Underwood, Family Unharmed After Tennessee Home Catches Fire

The singer’s garage was engulfed in flames on Sunday evening after a UTV caught fire.

Carrie Underwood and her family are safe after a fire erupted over the weekend at the country singer’s home in Williamson County, Tennessee.

“There was a fire on the property on Sunday night, which was quickly contained,” Brad Cafarelli, Ms. Underwood’s representative, told The Epoch Times via email.

Ms. Underwood, 41, and her husband, retired professional hockey player Mike Fisher, 44, were home with their two children when the blaze started. The couple, who wed in 2010, share two sons, Isaiah Michael, 9, and Jacob Bryan, 5.

Mr. Cafarelli said no one was injured during the incident. “The family and their pets were unharmed,” he wrote, noting that “there was no damage to the primary residence.”

Dinah Wade, a public information officer with Williamson County Fire and Rescue, told The Epoch Times via email that the fire department was dispatched to a fire alarm at a residence in the suburb of Leiper’s Fork, about 30 miles southwest of Nashville, at around 9:42 p.m. on June 16.

“Within seconds, the call was upgraded to a structure fire,” Ms. Wade wrote, adding that eight of the county’s fire stations responded to the call.

“Williamson Health Medic 10, Williamson Health EMS Supervisor 1204, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Public Safety Director 902, numerous firefighters, a tanker from Fairview Fire, Williamson County EMA, Box 94, and a truck and engine from Franklin Fire responded to the scene,” she elaborated, adding that Middle Tennessee Electric also responded to the fire in order to secure the electricity to the home.

“1401 arrived on scene to find flames coming from the garage,” Ms. Wade said. “When more personnel arrived on the scene, crews were able to check for fire extension inside the walls.”

Although Ms. Underwood’s home is located in a rural area, firefighter crews were able to combat the flames by utilizing a water supply from a 10,000-gallon reservoir situated on the property, Ms. Wade said. “This act of preplanning with the fire department made a huge difference in the rapid extinguishment of the fire,” she wrote.

Ms. Wade noted that an off-road UTV vehicle parked next to the home’s garage was the source of the fire.

Ms. Wade thanked the Spring Hill Fire Department, the Franklin Fire Department, and the Brentwood Fire Department for providing call assistance to the area’s various districts while the other crews were battling the blaze.

Carrie Underwood

Ms. Underwood rose to fame in 2005 after winning the fourth season of the hit singing competition television series “American Idol.”

The singer released her debut studio album, “Some Heart,” in November of that same year. The album features the chart-topping singles “Wasted,” “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” and “Before He Cheats,” among others.

Ms. Underwood took home her first Grammy Award for the album, earning Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “Jesus, Take the Wheel” in 2007.

Ms. Underwood called the career highlight “absolutely unbelievable” while accepting the award. “I love country music, first of all,” she said before thanking God, her parents, and Simon Fuller, the creator of “American Idol.” The singer continued: “Anybody that had anything to with this album and the blessed year I’ve had, thank you so much.”

Ms. Underwood went on to release her second studio album, “Carnival Ride,” in 2007, followed by “Play On” in 2009, “Blown Away” in 2012, “Storyteller” in 2015, and “Cry Pretty” in 2018.

The country superstar’s seventh studio album, “My Gift,” was released in September 2020. It marked her first Christmas album and featured appearances by singer-songwriter John Legend and her eldest son, Isaiah. The then 5-year-old provided vocals for the track “Little Drummer Boy.”

Ms. Underwood released her eighth studio album, “My Savior,” in 2021, debuting her ninth and most recent album, “Denim & Rhinestones,” the following year.

In 2022, the singer garnered her eighth Grammy Award for “My Savior,” winning Best Roots Gospel Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.

During a 2023 interview with Dr. Josh Axe, the Oklahoma native discussed the role that her strong faith played in her life, crediting God for helping to keep her grounded throughout her career.

“It’s the foundation on which everything else is built,” she said.

“That’s a way to keep oneself grounded, no matter what it is you’re doing. To have a connection to God, to a higher power … you just get so much more fulfillment and satisfaction and contentment in your life when you have that,” the singer said. “It just gives you such a bigger sense of peace.”
