Two attendants of a Bon Gas limited filling station at Konongo in the Asante Akim Central Municipality of the Ashanti Region were held hostage by some masked men believed to be armed robbers and huge cash was stolen from them.
According to the Konongo Police, they received a distress call from unknown callers to the effect that there was some suspected robbery at the scene. Upon receiving this message, Police swiftly proceeded to the scene of the crime and met two young men tied up. The victims were untied and the area was carefully searched but no suspects were seen.
In the account of the victims, six(6) masked armed men with two wielding a pumped action gun, three (3) holding machetes and one (1) having a pinch bar attacked them in their room and at a gunpoint took them hostage. The robbers tied the victims’ hands, legs and mouth with a cloth to prevent them from raising an alarm.
They then robbed the victims identified as Nicolas Bambire 26 of an iPhone 11 Pro Max and Odei Samuel 24, of a Techno pop 7 mobile phone respectively.
The robbers then proceeded to the manager’s office and took away Ghc 11,754.00 kept in the cash safe and bolted.
